City Compost
Problem | Opportunity
Almost all New York City restaurants generate compost. Compost can be reused as organic natural fertilizer by farmers. Currently there are no companies who pick up compost from restaurants free of charge. There is no financial incentive for food establishment to pay for compost pick-up. It’s easier to discard it. As a result valuable resource is wasted. There are compost recycle sites who accept compost and deliver it to farms.
